Happy Birthday Chase!!

On September 28th, Chase turned 3 years old!  I can't believe how fast this 3 years has gone by and how big my first baby is now!  On the morning of his birthday, I had to wake him up because it was past 7:30 and he still hadn't woken up yet.  I walked into his room with my camera and he was cranky!  I came in saying "Happy Birthday!" and the only response I got was him screaming "No" back to me and pulling the covers back over his head!  I told Drew later that I thought I had a 13 year old rather than a 3 year old!

Because of Chase's love of all things Avenger, guess what his party theme was!
My big project!  These cookies took 7+ hours, but they were well worth it.  I don't know if I'll make them again (unless Cooper or Chase specifically ask, of course) but I did learn a lot in the process so I think I could make simpler designs in the future.

Thor-Daddy

I'm not exactly sure who all the "Bad Guys" are on the fence, but we let the boys get a chance to shoot at the bad guys with the water guns.
Of course, Uncle Drew has to torture Parker.  He thinks it's his job.
When Drew and I saw the Avenger cups at Target, we knew that Chase would love to play a stacking game with them.
I bet Thor's daddy didn't wipe cookie icing off of Thor's face when he was little!
Sweet Gray!

All of the Avengers!
Hulk Smashing!
Brave Aunt Melanie
Chase and I had been practicing blowing out candles.  I was so worried that he wouldn't do it, that I forgot to take a picture of him actually blowing them out.  Also, Chase fell in love with this bottle of water a few minutes before the cake, so he wouldn't let it go.

If you can't tell, I made the cake.  While it doesn't look super fancy (remember, I spent 7 hours on the cookies), it was delicious.

Cooper - 30 weeks

A recap of Cooper's 30th week...

This week I was pretty much working like a D-O-G so this week was a bit of a blur.  I do have noted that Cooper began blowing bubbles this week.  He has mastered the raspberry!

Cooper - 29 weeks

A recap of Cooper's 29th week...

After a week of fantastic sleeping the week before, we were surprised to see two little bottom teeth pop out at the beginning of this week!  Once the teeth starting popping out, the stretch of great sleeping...ended!!

Cooper began laughing a lot this week (mostly big giggles) and I spent my first night away from home and without Cooper since he was born.  I was with it since it was just one night and I was only 3 hours away.  It was a lot of extra work though since I'm still nursing.  I don't know if it would have been possible to be away for more than one night.

Daycare began letting him have some outside time this week!  I think they take him outside when Chase is also playing outside.  I'm pretty sure Chase completely ignores him!

Cooper - 28 weeks

A recap of Cooper's 28th week...

This week was a slightly unusual week in that Cooper slept great this week. I believe there was even one morning that I got to go walk into his room in the morning to get him (as opposed to him having been in bed with me since 1:00am).  I can count those mornings on one hand.  In fact, it may have only been that one time!

This week Cooper tried peas and applesauce for the first time.  I bought a food mill to help make the peas since they have a skin that is near impossible to process.  It was a lot of work, but it came out pretty good if I say so myself.  I was rewarded for this hard work by Cooper gagging and throwing up immediately after trying it and then Chase gagging at the sight of Cooper eating the food.  Ha!  The applesauce, as expected, was a hit!

Cooper was baptized this week and he did great through the service.  He didn't sleep through it like we would have liked, but he didn't make too much noise!

Cooper's Baptism

Cooper was baptized on Sunday, September 9th.  He was very well behaved during the service, as was Chase who was with us for the first 15 minutes.
Boys and their toys!

After the service and breakfast, since we were all dressed up and the weather was perfect, I thought it would be nice to take a more formal picture of the boys.  It didn't start off so well...
...But I ended up getting some good/funny stuff by the end of the morning!

Cooper - 27 weeks

 A recap of Cooper's 27th week...

This was a big week for sweet Cooper.  He turned 6 months old and he had real food for the first time (sweet potatoes) and warmed up to it after the first bite or so.

He stayed up "late" (til 8 or so) and watched the beginning of Auburn's first game of the season.  We lost to Clemson, but had fun re-teaching Chase all of the cheers and dressing Cooper up for the game.

This yellow outfit has become a favorite of ours.  It's the official "backup" outfit at daycare.  I believe my parents bought it at Mount Rushmore for one of my nephews.  By the time it got passed down to me, I believe it still had the tags on it.  Ha!  More often than not, when we pick Cooper up in the afternoons, we don't have to look very hard to find him because he's messed up at least one outfit that day and so he's in the bright yellow romper.  We always get a laugh when we see him in it!
