Back on the Web!

We have been without internet for a little over a week in this house which explains the lack of updates.  Surprisely we didn't get a lot more done around the house without internet because most of the time was spent on the phone explaining to Comcast our issues 4 times a day!

I'm a little behind so I'm going to try to get caught up.  I'm going to be backdating my posts to the proper day so I can remember the chronological order of various events!

Trip to the Botanic Gardens

Drew and I made our first trip back to the Botanic Gardens since our wedding.  We went for the sole purpose of visiting My Big Backyard to help entertain Chase for a few hours.  We went at 9 in the morning since the heat index was supposed to go up to 110 that day!  We strolled along the little path visiting as many things as we could.  Even that early in the morning though, it was really hot!  Thankfully we rounded our way to the water sprinkler area right at the time Chase's face was a red as a tomato!  He had a ball!

Now I'm about to overload you with pictures! :)

A little commentary about these pictures - We heard the "thunder" when we were in the Wizard garden and we rushed over to catch the rain.  I didn't really know what to expect here.  I figured it would be a light misting.  When we got there, it had just started misting and one other boy about a year older than Chase was hanging around there and another family just sitting around.  Chase enjoyed the misting and then the heavy "thunder" started and the water just started pouring.  The other kid ran to his mom and Chase started squealing and running around in circles.  The family on the bench started cheering him on and he was loving it!  If there is one thing he loves more than water, it's attention!  He was the only one that played in the water and he left drenched!

Pump It Up

Parker turned 5 this week and had his party at Pump It Up again this year.  It was a fun and exhausting time for all!

Chase was way too young to enjoy it last year.  He was able to go down the big slide last year, but most of the time he hung out in his stroller.  This year was another story!  He ran from obstacle to obstacle grunting and screaming "Go, go, go!" as he went.  This year he was able to climb the tall ladder to the slide all by himself.  He went down the slide on his own a few times (not in Drew's lap).  And he handled himself well around all the little 5 year olds.  I was very proud!  I don't think he stopped to catch his breath the entire 1 1/2 hours!  If he wasn't on the bouncies, he was running up and down the long hallway.  He never stopped moving!

Birthday boy!  Thanks for inviting us!

I asked Gray to give Chase a hug and instead he got this kiss!! :)

Mega Bloks and Other Things

Amazon.com had a sale on Mega Bloks sometime last week and I remembered that Chase enjoyed playing with them during one of our first trips to the ENT doctor.  I went against my head that said we didn't need another toy in our house that came in 80 pieces!  It arrived this afternoon and Chase LOVES them!  Here's a picture that Drew sent me on my drive home.

Chase likes the single block pieces and he made this tower (Drew built the supports on the bottom).  He also likes to "clean up" and put some of the pieces back in the bag and then take those same pieces out of the bag and then put them in my lap.  Ultimately, nothing ends up back in the bag.

Please ignore the mondo mess in the background.  It will get cleaned up...eventually.  Maybe by his birthday party in September! :)

Other random stuff to post to help clear out our phones:

Sometime last week we went to Chili's for dinner.  It was a kids eat free night or something.  Look!  We sat in a booth with Chase next to me!  I forgot all about booster seats!  Chase was very well behaved except for some random, long drawn out screams which came out of nowhere!  He wasn't even upset.  I think he just wanted to hear his voice!

Chase likes to play under the kitchen table - crawling under and over the bars on the bottom of the chairs.  If a picture of Chase has been taken that makes him look more like his father than this one, I would love to see it!

Random video time:

This is Chase blowing raspberries while we wait in the drive thru at Chickfila.

I doubt you will be able to hear this one since my finger was over the microphone.  This is Chase getting a bit overly dramatic about me making him try oatmeal.

Lucky Boy

Have I ever mentioned how lucky Chase is to have me for a mom??  He's just over 20 months old now and I just recently made him a real dinner for the first time.  I guess you could count the pureed vegetables and fruits as me making dinner for him, but this is the first time I followed a multi-ingredient recipe and he was still awake to eat it (normally if I even attempt to make anything for dinner, I don't start it until 8 or so!...and that is once in a blue moon).

I made for the house my favorite chicken pot pie recipe.  It was a hit even though I made it extra peppery (on purpose).

I think I was able to sneak at least one or two bites of vegetables in his belly.  This green bean on the other hand did not fulfill its mission.
